Would Jesus Want Real or Fake Flowers on the Altar?

What would Jesus' opinion be about real or fake flowers on the altar?

I don't think Jesus cares one bit if there are even any flowers on the alter at all.  He couldn't care less if we worshiped in the sanctuary or in the fellowship hall. He doesn't care if we sing praise songs or hymns. It doesn't matter to Jesus if we are wearing name tags or not. Jesus is not concerned with what time church starts. Jesus doesn't care if the youth area is messy. He doesn't care if someone has to get up and go to the bathroom in the middle of the service. It doesn't matter to Jesus if the altar candles are lit or not. Jesus doesn't care if the church repeats a creed or not. It doesn't matter to Jesus if the pastor preaches in a white robe, a suit, or a t-shirt. Jesus couldn't care less exactly where the altar is positioned. He doesn't care if communion is bread or crackers. Jesus doesn't care if people walk in late to the service. He doesn't care if we wear jeans or a dress. Jesus doesn't care what color we paint the walls.

Jesus wouldn't look at the flowers he would look at the people. And Jesus wouldn't look at what people were wearing he would look in their eyes and see their souls. He wouldn't worry about the condition of the youth room he would spend time laughing and loving on teenagers. Jesus would worship God even if there was no church at all. He would grab a boat or maybe stand on top of a car in present day and preach from that as his altar. Jesus would sing hymns and praise songs because both bring glory to God. Jesus would find delight in hearing a creed and He would find equal joy from a heart-felt worship time without a creed. He would let the pastor wear whatever he wanted... I never saw him telling the disciples what they should and should not wear. Jesus would most likely enjoy the bread over the stale card board crackers (after all he was human) but I don't think he would complain about it. If someone walked in late to a church service I am sure Jesus would just be happy they were there. Jesus does care about where people's hearts are at and how he can bless others. He cares about people and loves His sheep so much that He embraces us wherever we are at and carries us to the Father. I really love Jesus. I really struggle with the church. Shouldn't we the church have the same mission?

I know some people would say I shouldn't speak for Jesus or put my own thoughts into His. But everything I know about Jesus tells me he is not concerned about the little details the church often so upset about. Jesus wants nothing more than for us to sit as His feet and to be in His presence. Read the Mary and Martha story in Luke 10.

So maybe it's time to stop trying to make rule books about what the altar should look like or how the church should run according to John Wesley. Have we forgotten? Why do we care so much about imitating Wesley tradition when all John Wesley was trying to do was to get people to care about what Jesus thinks?

No wonder so many people don't go to church. We need to fix this and it starts at the feet of Jesus.

daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed
the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it
pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off
